Even after a long simmer in the shrimp sauce, each strand keeps its firm bite and that smooth, slippery texture that really soaks up the topping. The 500g pack gave us plenty for a big family lunch, and they didn't clump together at all.
The golden color is exactly what you want for palabok, and the texture held up beautifully even after sitting on the table for a while. Boiled them for the suggested time and they stayed firm, just like the description says, which made the dish look and taste proper.
Cooked these for a family gathering and they held their shape perfectly in the sauce, no mush at all. The smooth texture is exactly what I wanted for that classic palabok mouthfeel, and one 500g pack was plenty for everyone.
