Gör ditt eget söta filippinska frukostkött (Tocino) hemma. Denna blandning lagar fläskkött med den karakteristiska rödaktiga färgen och sötsalta smaken. Perfekt för "Tosilog".
The color it gave the pork was that perfect bright reddish-pink, and the sweet-savory balance was spot on for tosilog. My whole kitchen smelled like a carinderia while it was curing, and the slices caramelized beautifully in the pan.
The cure worked exactly as promised—my pork came out that classic reddish-pink hue and tasted just like the tocino from the breakfast joints back home. I let it marinate overnight and the sweet-savory balance was spot on for a quick tosilog fix.
One packet cured two pounds of pork perfectly, and the sweet-savory mix hit that exact tosilog taste I grew up with. The meat came out tender and glossy, just like the breakfast spots back home.
