Took me straight back to breakfast at my lola’s house — just add hot water and it’s ready in minutes, no lumps if you stir while pouring. The cocoa taste is genuinely authentic, and it’s sweet enough to enjoy without extra sugar. Perfect for a cold Dutch morning.
The chocolate flavor is rich without being overly sweet, and it thickened up perfectly in about eight minutes. I dropped a splash of milk on top like my lola used to do, and it brought me right back to weekend mornings back home.
The cooking smell alone had my whole flat feeling like a Manila dawn, and it’s so simple to make that even my first try came out creamy and rich. A warm bowl with a splash of milk was the perfect comfort on a chilly Dutch evening, and the taste is spot-on to what I grew up with.
